President Trump speaking at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) on Friday said he’s proven to all of his doubters and critics that he’s a true conservative.

“We’ve come a long way together,” he said. “I think now we’ve proved that I’m a conservative.”

He touted the success of his administration in his first year in office, citing the confirmation of Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch, the Republicans’ tax overhaul, getting rid of the Obamacare individual mandate, slashing regulations, and the economy.

The President praised CPAC as a venue for “big ideas” and thanked attendees for helping his administration in the last year “put more great conservative ideas into use than perhaps ever before in American history.”

“My administration has had the most successful first year in the history of the presidency,” he said. “I really believe it.”

He went on to warn conservatives not to get complacent with the upcoming elections.

"If they [Democrats] get in, they will repeal your tax cuts, they will put judges in that you wouldn't believe, they'll take away your Second Amendment which we will never allow that ... Remember that," Trump said.
