Trump: ‘I’ll Use the Word Anchor Baby’ Even If ‘It’s Not Politically Correct’

During Wednesday night’s town hall meeting in Derry, N.H., Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump offended an audience member with his use of the term “anchor baby” when discussing birthright citizenship.

“Are you aware of the term, ‘anchor baby’ -- that’s an offensive term. People find that offensive,” the male town hall attendee asked.

“You mean it’s not politically correct and yet everybody uses it?” Trump interjected. “Give me a different term. What else would you like to say?” he asked.

The audience member then provided the campaigning billionaire with an inaudible but presumably longer way of describing the term, to which The Donald responded, “You want me to say all that instead? O.K.”

“Excuse me. I’ll use the word anchor baby,” Trump fired.
