President Trump late Wednesday night slammed Democrats in Congress for “putting our Country at risk,” presumably for their inaction and pushback regarding the crisis on the U.S.-Mexico border.

In a vague tweet, Trump called congressional Democrats “TREASONOUS” and accused them of having an “Open Border mindset.”

Earlier Wednesday during an appearance at a fundraiser in Texas, President Trump said he may “have to call up more military” to deal with the crisis on the border.

He criticized Democrats for refusing to pass stricter immigration laws and said that “the border is going to be an incredible issue” come the U.S. presidential election in 2020.

In a tweet on Tuesday, Trump called on Congress to “get rid of the loopholes” and declared that “[e]verybody is now acknowledging that, right from the time I announced my run for President, I was 100% correct on the Border.”

“Remember the heat I took?” he wrote.

His remarks come as an unprecedented influx of migrants overwhelms immigration enforcement and detention facilities.

This is not the first time the President has called Democrats in Congress “treasonous.” Trump slammed Democrats following his State of the Union address in February as “treasonous” and “un-American” for their lack of applause and many faces despite his call during the speech for bipartisan unity.
