There was a nice moment near the end of of the graduation ceremony at the Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md. on Friday. The commencement address was given by none other than President Trump, and towards the end of his speech the president made an on-the-spot decision that the graduates clearly appreciated.

“I was given an option,” Trump told the graduates. “I could make this commencement address, which is a great honor for me, and immediately leave and wave goodbye. Or I could stay and shake hands with just the top 100. Or I could stay for hours and shake hands with 1,100 and something. What should I do? What should I do?”

Graduates could be heard telling Trump to stay. It’s not every day you get the opportunity to shake hands with the most powerful man in the world.

“Stay?” Trump asked while the crowd was trying coax him into staying. “I’ll stay. I’ll stay.”

Here’s video of the exchange:

This wasn't major news, nor was it a political ploy. All it was is a nice gesture from a politician that we really need more of, instead of constant political divisiveness.
