President Donald Trump kicked off his 2020 re-election campaign in Orlando, Fla., Tuesday night, where he started by slamming the “fake news” media, declaring that he will continue to “drain the swamp,” and asking the packed stadium to “just imagine what this angry left wing mob would do if they were” put in charge.

"Imagine if we had a Democrat president and Democrat Congress in 2020," Trump said. "They would shut down your free speech, use the power of the law to punish their opponents, which they are trying to do now anyway ... They would strip Americans of their constitutional rights while flooding the country with illegal immigrants in the hopes it will expand their political base."

Vice President Mike Pence when introducing Trump to the stage delivered similarly scathing remarks of the Democratic Party, particularly those promoting a socialist agenda.

President Trump during his speech also touched on the Special Counsel investigation into interference in the 2016 U.S. presidential election, calling it a “great hoax” and declaring that the only “collusion” that took place was between the “fake news media,” Democrats in Congress, “and their operatives and the people who funded the phony dossier, crooked Hillary Clinton and the DNC.”

"It was all an illegal attempt to overturn the results of the election, spy on our campaign, which is what they did, and subvert our democracy," Trump fired.

When announcing his official bid, the President said, "I can promise you I will never, ever let you down. I won't."

Trump told the crowd he is deciding his campaign’s theme as either “Make America Great Again,” or, “Keep America Great.” His audience voted for the latter.

This comes as 2020 Democratic hopefuls such as Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders mount their rebuttals to Trump’s speech.
