Trio Of Senators Support Gov’t Guaranteed Jobs For All

Eric Scheiner | April 25, 2018

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) wants to guarantee every American a job.

The Washington Post reports that Sanders will roll out a plan that will guarantee every person a job with $15 an hour in pay.

According to The Post, Sanders' plan would create 12 districts within the US that would approve jobs plans from municipalities, states, and tribal governments and then pass those plans along to the Labor Department for final approval.

The focus would be on the construction of new infrastructure and education.

Of course, the details of how this plan would be funded are still being worked out.  No official word from the Sanders camp at this time.

Sanders is not alone in supporting a guaranteed jobs proposal. Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.) tweeted support for guaranteed jobs over the GOP tax cuts earlier this month.

silly

Sen. Cory Booker (D –N.J.) has announced The Federal Jobs Guarantee Development Act. Booker’s measure  would establish a three-year pilot program in which the Department of Labor would select 15 test areas and offer funding so that every adult living there is guaranteed a job paying at minimum of $15 an hour with benefits.

“The federal jobs guarantee is an idea that demands to be taken seriously,” Booker said in a statement. “Creating an employment guarantee would give all Americans a shot at a day’s work and, by introducing competition into the labor market, raise wages and improve benefits for all workers.”

I thought these type of plans were already proposed, I believe they are called socialism.

Maybe these three senators didn't get the memo. Then again... maybe they did.
