Former attorney general Eric Holder said while he’s certain Democrats will win the next election, he also knows Republicans will “cheat” to secure another victory for President Trump.

Holder made the assertion on The Breakfast Club with “Charlamagne tha God" after the radio host challenged his view that Democrats are a shoo-in for 2020.

“You are convinced that the Democrats are going to win in 2020? 'Cause I’m not,” Charlamagne said.

“I’m convinced, but I’m going to work like hell to make sure that it happens,” Holder responded.

The radio host said he would only be convinced if some type of “election security bill” is passed by Congress — seeming to suggest he believes Republicans cheated in 2016.

“It’s gonna be hard,” Holder said. “Because the reality is that Republicans are gonna cheat. They’re gonna to try to keep people away from the polls, they’re gonna move polling places, they’re going to do a whole variety of things that when we had a voting rights act that was intact and a Justice Department that was concerned about it we could prevent a lot of this stuff but we don’t have those tools now.”

“So we gotta be prepared for a tough fight,” he continued. “But it’s a fight that we can win. This is not a time for despair, this is a time for action.”

Charlamagne and Holder went on to say that if Trump lost in 2020 they believed he would refuse to leave the White House because he would be afraid of going to prison.

“Bill Maher I think, once said, ‘Trump is not going to leave,’ and I thought to myself, ‘that’s ridiculous.’ But as I’ve thought about it, this guy with all the norms he breaks through,” he said. “I think he loses, and then it will be interesting between, say, November and January when he would have to start packing. I wonder if, for instance, he will pardon himself? Will he pardon all the people in his administration? That’s something that I wouldn’t take off the table.”

I think Holder forgot how he wouldn’t accept the outcome of a recent election, as The Washington Free Beacon notes:

Holder and his fellow Democrats have themselves refused to accept the result of a recent election. When Democrat Stacey Abrams lost her gubernatorial race in Georgia by 55,000 votes, Holder and several 2020 Democratic contenders falsely claimed Abrams actually won the election.

Seems the Democrats will always find some kind of excuse when things don’t turn out like they prophesied. No surprise there.
