Most of the Houston Texans players took a knee Sunday during the national anthem before their game against the Seattle Seahawks, following remarks made by the team's owner.

Fox News reports, Texans owner Bob McNair had met with the team Saturday morning and apologized for his previous comments that "we can't have the inmates running the prison" during a meeting of NFL owners who were discussing the national anthem protests.

CBS, which broadcasts the game, did not televise the kneeling protest.

NBC news cameras captured the moment most of the Texans kneeled (view in the video below).

ESPN reports the players held a team meeting deciding how they would handle the situation following McNair’s comments, even considering removing the team logo from their helmets, which they did not do.

McNair's remarks ignited criticism from athletes and prompted an initial apology from the 79-year-old Friday.

Reports indicate only about 10 of Texans players stood for the national anthem.
