Taylor Swift's Touching Care Package Leaves Fan in Tears

Rebekah Bortnicker is a die hard T-Swizzle fan. She created a video of Taylor Swift and her gal-pals using the theme song to the "Friends" TV series which she posted on her Tumblr page

The one and only Taylor saw this and responded in-kind by sending a care package, with thoughtful personalized items. She told her fan in a handwritten letter that she is thankful Rebekah has been cheering her on, "in the most thoughtful and creative ways."

"I really really really (emphasis on really) hope you like it. I'm not a good painter but I think you're beautiful and positive even though you're dealing with the stress life brings, so I wanted to make you something and see you on tour". . . writes Taylor.

Included in the box was a Polaroid of Taylor creating the painting with the fan's name written on it (autographed, of course), a necklace, and a check to cover her student loans in the amount of $1,989 - the title of her latest album - all delivered by "Swift-Ex". Rebekah was touched by the whole experience, obviously.

Kind acts are something many celebrities do for their fans, especially ones that are terminally ill, another prominent one being Make A Wish star John Cena, and Tim McGraw who gives away homes to veterans. Taylor does her share of other charitable activities, and is a better role model than most other big-name pop singers, most assuredly. Lately, it begs to mention that Taylor has been trying awfully hard to appear genuine and down to earth, which ironically can give off a disingenuous vibe. Humblebragging is what some call it.

We like it when our celebrities are famous and mighty, but we connect emotionally to them when they are "real," down-to-earth people. Time will tell if Taylor maintains the genuine, humble appeal with her audience. Acts like this are still nice, even if self-promotion is the reason for doing them. If you complain, however, we know Taylor Swift will simply shake it off.
