Last night on The Hannity Show, radio talk show host Tammy Bruce weighed in on the national conversation surrounding Indiana’s new religious freedom law and whether Christian businesses—such as bakeries and pizzerias—reserve the right to refuse service to a customer if doing so violates their deeply held beliefs.

A self-proclaimed gay conservative, Bruce argued that, in shutting Christian businesses down and persecuting persons because they do not share in the leftist agenda, these gay rights activists—or, in her words, “gay bullies”—are reversing “any kind of progress we’ve made in previous generations.”

“We have embraced the civil rights movements of this country, which were about allowing people to live the lives that best suit them,” she said. “For gay people, it was about living our lives decently without being attacked by others because we were different, or because we refused to conform. And here we are now in the 21st century, with Christians being attacked by gay bullies because they’re different and they don’t conform to the leftist narrative or to the leftist agenda.”

“This is the antithesis of what the gay rights movement was about—what every civil rights movement was about—and it’s not what we’ve been fighting for for generations,” Bruce argued.

“I don’t know how shutting down Christian businesses has anything to do with equal rights,” she added.

“It casts us as bad people and it reverses any kind of progress I think we’ve made in previous generations.”

Bruce went on to say,

"Of all people in the world who should understand the need to be respected for who we are, ... it's the gay community."

"For us to put on, to these small business owners, this kind of totalitarian boot, is clearly us becoming the monster we were fighting against."
