'The Squad' Slams 'Smear Campaign' Against Ousted Rep. Katie Hill: 'This Doesn't Happen To Male Members'

‘The Squad’ – a.k.a., Democratic Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib and…wait, who’s that other one again? Oh, Ayanna Pressley – has come out in full support of disgraced ex-Congresswoman Katie Hill, who resigned this week after reports that she’d allegedly been sleeping with at least two of her subordinates, including a staffer in her office.

Hill’s exit from Congress followed reports by several news outlets that she’d been having intimate relations with her subordinates, including with a woman with whom Hill and her husband had been engaged in a “throuple.” Explicit photos showing an oft-nude Hill engaged in sexual relations with the woman circulated online, ultimately prompting the recently elected California lawmaker to resign.

Now, AOC and her cohorts are out in full force in defense of Hill, saying that a male member of Congress would never be ousted for having sex with his staffers.

“"This doesn't happen to male members in the same way — revenge porn in this respect. It’s horrific,” AOC said Thursday.

Omar likewise wished Hill all the best in her future endeavors – which may or may not include sleeping with her employees, who knows – in a tweet that simultaneously slammed the “smear campaign” against her former colleague.

“Best of luck on your new journey ‪@KatieHill4CA, we got you,” Omar tweeted, along with a photo of herself, Hill and Pressley.

“To all the women/girls out there, do not be deterred from pursuing your dreams,” Omar continued. “We must and will create a society where you cannot be defamed, smeared and kept from your career aspirations because of smear campaigns!”

“I have no doubt that so many people who have survived abusive revenge porn felt seen & heard today. You have many more chapters ahead sis & I look forward to all the good you’ll do,” Pressley said in a tweet toward Hill, which was then shared by Tlaib.
