Award ceremonies are supposed to be joyous occasions. So why do leftist celebrities always have to use them as political soap boxes?

Instead of remaining content with receiving an award, director Spike Lee used the virtual premiere of the 86th annual New York Film Critics Circle Awards to compare former president Donald Trump to Nazi Dictator Adolf Hitler.

How original.

People reported how the film director’s speech was recorded on January 6, the same day as the Capitol Hill riots. Clearly upset by the incident, Lee said, "This president, President Agent Orange, will go down in history with the likes of Hitler. These guys, all his boys, they are going down on the wrong side of history."

It’s ironic that the most pro-life president in American history is compared to a bloodthirsty megalomaniac. Juxtaposing our current president with Hitler would be a more suitable comparison, if one considers the former’s views on abortion.

Lee also stated that January 6 was “a very sad day in the history of America," and that "the whole world is laughing at the United States of America, the so-called cradle of democracy.”

He ended his caustic speech by wishing viewers "Peace and love." There’s not going to be much of either if people continue to have Lee’s toxic attitude.
