Socialist Ocasio-Cortez on SOTU: 'Unsettling Night For Our Country'

34.7k views

Ah, socialists. There are so many salty people out there today after President Donald Trump made the declaration that “America will never be a socialist country,” and it’s wonderful. Their dream of a socialist utopia, that has literally never been the outcome of any country’s implementation of the ideology, took a major blow Tuesday night and the far-left isn’t happy about it.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) was none too pleased in the wee hours of Wednesday morning, responding to a critical tweet by Wall Street Journal columnist Peggy Noonan.

Here’s Ocasio-Cortez’s response to Noonan’s assessment, along with Noonan’s original tweet:

Did Ocasio-Cortez not look “sullen” or “at a loss" throughout the State of the Union? Well, except when Trump recognized the growth of women in Congress - in other words, when Trump talked about her. It also looked at times as if something was wrong with Ocasio-Cortez’s hands, because she couldn’t be bothered to applaud possibly banning late-term abortions, attempting to put “human traffickers out of business,” or record low unemployment for minorities and Americans with disabilities.

Following the SOTU, Ocasio-Cortez told Fox News that she thinks "he's scared" in reference to Trump's condemnation of socialism.

At some point, if Ocasio-Cortez continues to be the career politician she wants to be, she’s going to have to eventually understand that the president, no matter who it is at the time, is the pilot of the ship. You’re not going to agree with everyone all the time. But quit acting like a petulant child every time you don’t get your way. It’s called being an adult.
