The American Rescue Plan, which is supposed to bring financial help to Americans during the COVID pandemic, might actually contribute to the killing of Americans instead.

The bill, pushed by President Joe Biden and backed by congressional Democrats, includes millions in vaguely-defined medical reimbursements and Title X funding, but doesn't include a Hyde amendment provision banning these funds from being used to pay for elective abortions. When asked if the president’s American Rescue Plan would use taxpayer money to directly fund abortions, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki declined to answer - and even suggested the answer is "yes."

During a White House press briefing, EWTN’s correspondent Owen Jensen asked Psaki, “Can this administration right now guarantee, if the American Rescue Plan is passed, that no taxpayer dollars will go to the abortion industry?”

After refusing to answer the question directly, Psaki replied that the president believed that community health centers were vital to combatting the pandemic.

“He also believes that community health centers are a key part of addressing the pandemic, of ensuring that people in communities have access to vaccines, have access to treatment and information about making sure they’re healthy and their loved ones are healthy," she said.

When asked yet again if Biden plans to push for a Hyde amendment provision in the relief bill, Psaki simply responded that "The president's view on the Hyde amendment is well known," referencing Biden's repeated public stance that the Hyde amendment should be repealed and that taxpayer dollars should, in fact, be used to fund abortions.

“I don’t think I have anything new for you,” she ended.

Owen immediately asked the question again as a follow up, but Psaki responded, “Three quarters of the public supports the components of the package, wants to see the pandemic get under control, wants to see people put back to work, vaccines in arms, so I think that answers your question.”

This is similar to the time when Nancy Pelosi was accused of trying to sneak abortion funding into the emergency COVID bill last year, only to later include a manager's note specifying that the bill's medical reimbursements were to be used for COVID-related medical reasons only.

Now, it’s reasonable to assume that the Biden administration and congressional Democrats may in fact be including abortion funding in the relief measure, even though most Americans disapprove of tax dollars being used for abortion funding.
