Who would deny medical aid to a dying person? Apparently, a member of the Democrat party would.

Yesterday, the U.S. Senate voted on the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, a measure that codifies protections for infants who survived an abortion procedure by guaranteeing under the law that they receive medical care. But thanks to anti-life Democrats, the final vote count was 52-48, eight votes shy of the 60 needed to pass the measure.

Newly-elected Democrat senators Mark Kelly (Arizona) and Ralph Warnock (Georgia) were among those who voted to deny medical aid to dying infants who survive their attempted murder.

Nebraska Senator Ben Sasse, who had introduced the bill in 2015 and had recently reintroduced the bill to the Senate in January, said he was frustrated at the outcome, but still resolute.

“Protecting newborns ought to be the easiest thing in the world. This legislation isn’t red vs. blue, it is simply about giving every baby a fighting chance. Every baby deserves care," he said. "This isn’t about abortion, it’s about human rights. I am going to continue to fight for these babies because love is strong [sic] than power and we will win.”
