Like Sen. Jeff Flake just a few days earlier, Republican Sen. Bill Cassidy found himself on the pointy end of an anti-Kavanaugh protester’s self-righteous finger Wednesday, being accosted while walking down a hall in the Capitol Building and accused of supporting a “rapist” for the Supreme Court.

But unlike Sen. Jeff Flake, Cassidy didn’t fold like a cheap deck of cards.

The moment was caught on cell phone video as an unnamed woman badgered Cassidy over his support for Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh because – in her own words – “rapists are bad.”

Cassidy fired back by pointing out not a single person has corroborated Christine Ford’s claim that Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her at a high school party back in 1982 – including Ford’s own lifelong friend, who said she has no recollection of having ever been at the party Ford has described.

“So you’re gonna believe Mark Judge over a woman?” the protester demanded.

“No, I’m gonna believe her best friend,” Cassidy replied.

When the woman accused Cassidy of being willing to “hurt women,” things got heated.

“Wait a second – are you OK as a person to go ahead and accept a non-corroborated charge to destroy somebody’s life? If it destroyed your life, your son’s life and husband’s?” Cassidy demanded.
