SEGREGATION 2.0: Seattle Protesters Demand the City Hire Black Doctors to Treat Black Patients

The “Free Capitol Hill” movement has reportedly taken over several city blocks, using old police barricades and various debris to cordon off a portion of the city and establish what can only be described as some sort of hippie commune they call the "Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone."

Of course, what most of the past week's protesters, rioters, looters and general obstructionists want has by and large been anyone's guess. But according to a blog post published by Free Capitol Hill on the blog site medium.com, we now know at least a few dozen things the group says they want - including, apparently, the return of segregation.

And no, that's not a typo.

On Tuesday, the group released a list of demands to the city on behalf of “black voices” – demands that start, of course, with abolishing (not reforming, but straight up dismantling) the local police department.

“The Seattle Police Department and attached court system are beyond reform. We do not request reform, we demand abolition,” the group posted in a blog on medium.com.

And it only gets more bizarre from there. The group is also demanding that “youth jails” be abolished, and that all black criminals currently being held in prison for a violent crime be retried by juries made up of members of their own specific communities.

If you think that sounds more dense than a bag of sand, just wait. It gets better.

The group is also demanding that the city hire more black doctors and nurses to specifically treat black patients.

“We demand the hospitals and care facilities of Seattle employ black doctors and nurses specifically to help care for black patients,” the group wrote.

Which, at least back in the day, was better known as “segregation.”

While we're at it, why don't we just bring back separate water fountains? Maybe split schools up into white kids and black ones. Maybe even have separate schools for them entirely, and perhaps staff the black schools with black teachers? For that matter, let's just have whole restaurants where only blacks can go to only be served by black employees.

After all, it's not like we spent decades fighting against that very practice. And even if we had, I doubt the hemp-choppers in Seattle would have read about it.
