U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo took questions from the radical media on Tuesday, and while he was trying to talk about foreign affairs and policy affecting the U.S., the radical media predictably wouldn’t stop asking him about why President Donald Trump won’t concede after the radical media called the presidential election for Democrat challenger Joe Biden and whether or not Trump’s team was coordinating with Biden’s team for a “peaceful transition of power.”

Pompeo spoke and responded to questions in a very calm, confident demeanor, almost as if he was ready for the barrage of questions about the same topic. Pompeo was very clear in his responses and didn’t back down from one of them despite the same question being asked in different ways.

“Is the State Department currently prepared to engage with the Biden transition team,” one reporter asked before continuing, “and if not, at what point does a delay hamper a smooth transition or pose a risk to national security?”

Without skipping a beat, Pompeo responded.

“There will be a smooth transition to a second Trump administration,” Pompeo said with certainty. “We’re ready. The world is watching what’s taking place here. We’re going to count all the votes. When the process is complete, there’ll be electors selected. There’s a process. The Constitution lays it out pretty clearly.”

Pompeo then fielded a couple of questions about foreign affairs before another reporter asked him about the “process,” to which Pompeo attempted to cut her off.

“This is the third question [on this topic],” Pompeo said. “Ma’am, if you would, I came out here today and talked about important foreign policy issues. This is now the third question…”

The reporter cut off Pompeo this time and said that “this is the most important thing that’s happening in this country right now.” She’s correct, but there’s only so many times a person can answer the same question. Pompeo then directed the reporter to ask her question.

“What guidance are you giving to American diplomats on how to characterize the results of the presidential election?” the reporter asked. “And also, this department frequently sends out statements encouraging free and fair elections abroad, and for the losers of those elections to accept the results. Doesn’t President Trump’s refusal to concede discredit those efforts?”

“That’s ridiculous, and you know that’s ridiculous, and you asked it because it’s ridiculous,” Pompeo said while the reporter attempted to interrupt him. “You asked the question. If you will, permit me to answer it.

You asked a question that is ridiculous. This department cares deeply to make sure that elections around the world are safe and secure and free and fair. And my officers risk their lives to ensure that happens. They work diligently on that.”

Writer's Note: To be clear, despite the reporters claims, the 2020 presidential election has not been officially declared for either of the two major parties nominees. The media does not have the authority to officially recognize a winner, only to project a winner. As of this writing, the Federal Election Commission (FEC) has not declared a winner. The only results listed are for 2018 and prior to that.
