Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) knows no irony.

Wednesday morning he took the Senate floor to decry “false innuendos, distortions and dishonesty” for distracting from Brett Kavanaugh's nomination to the Supreme Court.

Chucky didn’t mention porn lawyer Michael Avenatti’s name. He didn’t mention the biased media coverage given on Kavanaugh. Instead, Schumer mentioned Republicans who want to know more about how Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.)  and her office handled the “confidential” letter Christine Blasey Ford sent to lawmakers that made allegations of sexual assault against Kavanaugh.

“Everyone, everyone, everyone, including the Majority Leader himself knows that Kavanaugh is a deeply flawed candidatefor a whole lot of reasons. Knowing that, the Majority Leader and the Republican majority, have to divert attention from Kavanaugh,” Schumer said. “So they're focusing on people who did nothing wrong. Like Senator Feinstein, like the Judiciary Democratic Minority, likethe Democratic Party. It's outrageous.”

“Judge Kavanaugh, hurt himself dramatically - permanently, by his screed, his nasty, partisan screed,” Schumer added. “That's something of a new unschooled two-bit politician, not someone who wants to be on the Supreme Court of the United States. And he hurt himself. Leader McConnell knows that. The Republican leadership knows it. Donald Trump knows it. But they can't - they have to get the focus off Kavanaugh. And so they come up with these, straw men and women. They come up with these false innuendos, distortions and dishonesty. It's not going to work.”
