House Democrats on Tuesday announced two articles of impeachment against President Trump regarding his dealings with the Ukraine alleging abuse of power and obstruction of Congress.
Representatives House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), Jerry Nadler (D -N.Y.), Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) and Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) were among the Democratic leaders gathered for the announcement of the articles on Tuesday.
Schiff claimed the Democrats need to press forward with the articles quickly. There are reports that there may be a vote on the articles before the holiday break.
“The argument, ‘why don’t you just wait?’ amounts to this,” Schiff said.
“Why don't you just let him cheat in one more election? Why not let him cheat just one more time? Why not let him have foreign help? Just one more time. That is what that argument amounts to.”
Democrats took no questions during the press conference.
