San Francisco State University (SFSU) is investigating a video that shows a black student attacking a white student because his dreadlocks are allegedly part of “her culture.”

The YouTube video showing the attack, which surfaced on Monday evening and has over one million views, shows a black woman yelling at a white man over his dreadlocks.

In the video, the woman insists dreadlocks are part of “her culture.”

When the man informs her that dreadlocks are part of Egyptian culture, the woman asks him, “Where’s Egypt? Tell me!” as he walks away.

The video shows the woman grabbing the man as he tries to walk away.

The man in the video, who has been identified as Cory Goldstein, has written about the incident on social media.

On his Facebook page, Goldstein wrote, “I just got physically assaulted because I have dreadlocks woe[.]”

ABC7 reports Goldstein has filed a police report against the woman in the video, who is allegedly Bonita Tindle, but is not pressing charges. On Facebook, Goldstein clarified that he will have the “education system deal with her.”

In the university’s statement, SFSU said “University police were called to the scene of the incident when it occurred.”

Although SFSU maintains Tindle is not an employee of the university, her LinkedIn claimed she works at the SFSU Women’s Center and Associated Students Inc, SFSU while her Facebook said she is the lead editor and photographer for Associated Students Inc., Programs & Services at SFSU.

On Tindle’s Facebook page, she described herself as an “unfriendly black girl.”

She also shared posts about “natural hair” activism.

Tindle has since deleted her social media accounts.

Goldstein and Tindle have not responded to MRCTV’s request for comment.
