Russia Bans George Soros Groups Due To ‘Security Threat’

7.8k views

George Soros, the billionaire hedge fund manager whose billions have heavily influenced politics worldwide in places like Serbia, Ukraine, and the United States, may soon find his organizations banned in Russia.

Russia, has moved to bar activity from Soros' two main influential organizations, The Open Society Foundation and The Open Society Institute. Russia's General Prosecutor’s Office said that the organizations, “represents a threat to the foundations of the constitutional system of the Russian Federation and the security of the state.”

From CNBC

...the Open Society Foundations (OSF) and the Open Society Institute (OSI) — would be placed on a “stop list” of foreign non-governmental organizations whose activities have been deemed “undesirable” by the Russian state...OSF first came into trouble with the Russian government in July, when it hinted it might ban the foundation along with a number of other pro-democracy organizations accused of launching “soft aggression” in the country.

This is not the first time either that Soros’ organizations have been forcibly removed by a country’s government. Last year Hungry passed an assortment of ‘Stop Soros’ bills that effectively banned all his organizations from operating within Hungry. These laws were in response to nongovernment organizations (NGOs) and other entities aiding illegal aliens breach and stay within Hungary's borders.

His organizations have also been credited with working with MasterCard to fund third world migrants traveling to America.

As recently as this week, Soros-linked activists in Guatemala are reportedly trying to derail the Third Safe Country Agreement that the Trump administration has been pushing to sign with the country.
