It’s hard to believe a transgender woman is female when her appearance - and, of course, basic biology - blatantly suggest otherwise.

Nevertheless, The Wrap reported that retired WWE wrestler Tyler Reks, who now goes by Gabbi Tuft, has decided to identify himself as a woman. Pictures on his instagram account  accompanying the announcement indicate that he's already physically altered his body to look more feminine.

Tuft stated on instagram that “The ball dropped early today as this is now worldwide news. This is me. Unashamed, unabashedly me. This is the side of me that has hidden in the shadows, afraid and fearful of what the world would think; afraid of what my family, friends, and followers would say or do. I am no longer afraid and I am no longer fearful. I can now say with confidence, that I love myself for WHO I am.”

If he does love himself, then why is he switching genders? Why can’t he be, well, who he is?

Tuft’s former first name was Gabe, according to PR Newswire. A press release from the same site claimed, “She has been finally set free and ready to rule her world.”

Of course, that suggests that "freedom" includes the basic denial of natural law.

Here's a before and after picture of Tuft:
