A Department of Justice (DOJ) official has reportedly confirmed that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) opened a criminal investigation into Hunter Biden in 2019 and that the case is still “active” currently.
Sinclair Broadcast Group reporter and former Fox News correspondent James Rosen sent out a tweet Thursday evening informing the public of the confirmation.

Rosen also spoke on the situation, as reported by KFOX14.
“A team of FBI agents conducted an important interview within the last week and collected a wealth of digital evidence as part of a far-reaching probe into the business activities of Hunter Biden and his associates, one that could carry significant implications in the race for the White House,” Rosen said.
Rosen posted a subsequent tweet with video reporting on the timeline that Hunter Biden’s former business partner Tony Bobulinski spoke to Rosen about, including an October 23 questioning of him by the FBI.
“They do list me as a material witness within the entire FBI on their computer systems,” Bobulinski said. “And it was a very cooperative deep dive into all the facts across that time period.”

Reached for comment Thursday evening, an “FBI spokesman” told the Washington Examiner that they are playing the situation close to their vest.
“We have no comment in keeping with our standard practice of neither confirming nor denying the existence of an investigation,” the spokesman said.
The confirmation comes just weeks after the New York Post published copies of materials that allegedly came from Hunter Biden’s laptop, indicating that the son of former vice president Joe Biden was making lucrative deals with foreign entities in exchange for access to his father while he was in office as vice president.
