Seven-year-old James Younger, the Texas boy thrown into the center of adult controversy when his mother began "transitioning" him into a girl, has reportedly chosen to begin attending school dressed as a boy.

As ridiculous as it is that a biological boy going to school dressed as a boy is news, that otherwise innocuous decision marks a huge change for James. The little boy’s case has caught national attention in recent months, ultimately sparking the #SaveJamesYounger campaign on social media after a jury earlier this month denied full custody to James' father and effectively gave his mother, therapist Dr. Anne Georgulas, the go-ahead to begin the boy on puberty blockers and hormone therapy to start his medical "transition" to a female. Georgulas has long maintained that her son has “chosen” to live life as a girl, while James’ father (and Georgulas’ ex-husband) Jeffery Younger claims his son only dresses in feminine clothes to appease his mother.

According to court testimony, James had been “socially transitioned” into a girl and was already being recognized as “Luna” by teachers and staff at school.

According to the Save James Facebook page, James chose to attend school this week dressed as a boy. The page, which is run by family friends thanks to a gag order on James’ parents placed by a Texas judge, also included photos of James getting ready for school, along with another picture of him dressed in a suit for church.

“Going to school. This is what it looks like when JAMES gets to choose!” the post read, adding that “teachers had reported that there was zero stress or disruptions in the classroom today.”

James' tragic case has reignited a debate both in the public sphere and in state and federal legislatures over pre-pubescent children being encouraged to "transition" to the opposite gender in early childhood, with some lawmakers vowing to introduce legislation making it illegal to give underage children puberty blockers and potentially irreversible hormone replacement therapy.
