On Thursday, Democratic Rep. Luis Gutierrez said a bunch of nonsense during a congressional hearing on immigration, including about his disdain for a border wall. Oh, and he also blamed DHS Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen for separating families at the border.

After a rant on his preference for saying “Christmas” in place of the phrase, “holiday season,” Gutierrez likened President Trump to Herod of the Bible — who ordered Jewish males aged two and under to be put to death — and then proceeded to attack the Nielsen's character, calling her a "liar."

“Calling me a liar are fighting words. I’m not a liar,” Nielsen responded. “We’ve never had a policy for family separation. I’m happy to walk the gentleman [Gutierrez] through it again.”

After explaining to Gutierrez what having a policy for family separation would entail, Nielsen made it clear that her department was not separating families but upholding the law.

“We did none of those, what we did do is uphold the laws that Congress has passed and we prosecuted those who choose to come here illegally.”

While Nielsen was in the middle of her response, Gutierrez arose from his seat and disrespectfully walked out of the room, showing his inability to carry on a conversation with someone who brought facts to the debate.
