Upon hearing the news that the U.S. military took out Qasem Soleimani, Iran’s top commander, in an airstrike Thursday night, Rep. Ilhan Omar, congressional Democrats’ resident terrorist apologist and #LiberatePalestine supporter, vowed to “step in and stop” President Donald Trump from responding to Iran’s increasingly hostile actions and killing their terrorist leaders.

Responding to Connecticut Sen. Chris Murphy’s claim that Trump just “assassinate[d], without any congressional authorization, the second most powerful person in Iran, knowingly setting off a potential massive regional war,” Omar tweeted:

While predictably obnoxious and sanctimonious, this is hardly the first time Omar has shown sympathy for terrorists, whether alive or dead. In addition to openly opposing Israel and supporting the liberation of Palestine, whose government pays the families of terrorists who kill Jews, Omar has also begged for "leniency" for men convicted of attempting to join ISIS, voted against a bill allowing insurance companies to deny payouts to terrorists' families, and described the 9/11 hijackers as just "some people [who] did something."
