Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-Texas) says the latest revelations in unsealed FBI documents showing that bureau officials discussed their motivations for interviewing then-national security adviser Michael Flynn showcase “media puppets” collaborating with a “corrupt” Obama administration.
Crenshaw was asked about the documents indicating Flynn was “set-up” during a FBI interview in the White House in January 2017.
“I know that the media and the mainstream public opinion painted this guy as some Russian puppet. That's what everybody thought for so long. Why is that? Because a few FBI agents who are corrupt to the core, tried to make him sound like that. And the media puppets that collaborate with these people did the same thing,” Crenshaw said.
“We see this over and over again now. There's more and more evidence growing, between the FISA warrants and the under the Obama/Biden administrations corrupt use of the IRS to target conservative groups and now this.
You know, they keep repeating over and over again that the Trump administration is corrupt. And yet they provide no evidence given, even with all the powers that they exerted on President Trump, with the Mueller investigation and the impeachment investigation, they've never been able to prove any corruption. And yet we have so much more growing evidence of corruption in that administration and it is corrupt to the core. And the reason they keep calling the Trump administration corrupt is because they're trying to project. They're trying to project and distract from what is actually happened and what would happen under another Biden administration,” Crenshaw continued.
“This kind of thing is infuriating. These institutions are supposed to be trusted by the American people. I come from the national security institutions. I trusted them. I always pushed back against this notion that there was this big, conspiratorial, deep state. I always pushed back against that. I never liked that language. But then I see evidence like this and it's really chilling that there's no other word for it."
