VH1 Host Rick Ross on Label Not Signing Women: ‘I Would End Up F**king a Female Rapper'

In a recent interview on Power 105.1’s “The Breakfast Club,” rapper and host of the new VH1 show “Signed” Rick Ross was asked why he’s never signed a female artist to his music label, Maybach Music Group

The answer? Ross is afraid he’d wind up having sex with them and that it would hurt his business.

Ross: “You know, I never did it because I always thought, like, I would end up f**king a female rapper and f**king the business up. I’m so focused on my business. I just, I gotta be honest with you. You know, she looking good. I'm spending so much money on her photo shoots. I gotta f*** a couple times.”

Ross’s remarks begin in the video below around 8:45.

Angela Yee, one of the show’s hosts, then asked Ross if he would make an exception and sign a “young 17-year-old female” artist. “I mean most definitely, if she was a youngster that was bringing something to the table,” he said.

Ross was criticized in 2013 for lyrics on the song “U.O.E.N.O.,” which was interpreted as pro-rape. “Put Molly all in the champagne/ She ain't even know it/I took her home and I enjoyed that/ She ain't even know it.” He was dropped by Reebok as a result and issued an apology: “To every woman that has felt the sting of abuse, I apologize.”
