Trump Struggles To Build Even A Single Mile Of New Wall

A centerpiece of Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign was 'Build The Wall.' A project that is easier said than done.

The Washington Examiner reports that a statement from Customs and Border Protection confirms that the administration has failed to build a single mile of new wall since taking office.

Only old fencing has been replaced and much of the funding for new barriers on the border is currently stalled by various lawsuits brought against the administration.

The blame, according to officials from the administration is not the fault of the President but of the “unprecedented obstruction from Democrat lawmakers to protect and prolong open borders.”

The official told the Examiner:

These same obstructionists, including many who once supported border barriers, are the same people who would abolish ICE and DHS, let criminals run free across our borders, and turned a blind eye to the scourge human trafficking and child sex slavery enabled by their policies.

The Trump administration has its work cut out to actually get control of our nation's southern border and immigration system as a whole.

While the courts and Congress have only worked against getting control of our southern border, some have argued that the White House could be doing more to get control of the border.
