While the media patted themselves on the back for the perceived victory they received on Friday concerning CNN White House correspondent Jim Acosta’s temporary restoration of his press pass, President Trump is seemingly brushing it off as “not a big deal.”

Trump sat down with Fox News’ Chris Wallace on Friday to record an interview for “Fox News Sunday.” The topic of Acosta’s temporary White House press pass restoration came up and Trump was pretty straight forward about the whole deal.

“Yeah, its fine, I mean, it’s not a big deal,” Trump told Wallace. “What they said, though, is that we have to create rules and regulations for conduct etc. etc. We’re doing that, were going to write them up right now. It’s not a big deal and if he misbehaves, we’ll throw him out or we’ll stop the news conference.”

Is it just me, or did Trump’s answer sound like he was a school teacher telling the parent of a troubled child what would happen if their kid continues to misbehave?

Trump also intimated that if Acosta, or anyone else, acts up in such a way that is disruptive to process of question-and-answer sessions with him, he’ll just walk away.

“I will say this, look, nobody believes in the First Amendment more than I do and if I think somebody is acting out of sorts I will leave. I will say thank you very much everybody, I appreciate you coming and I’ll leave,” Trump said. “And those reporters will not be too friendly to whoever it is that’s acting up.”

Okay, Trump sounds like he graduated from teacher to principal right there. Maybe if these supposed “journalists” didn’t act like petulant when they don’t get everything they want out of Trump, the president wouldn’t have to speak like this.

It’s a sad commentary on our regressing society that the progressives have accelerated.
