President Trump has extended an invitation to the Covington Kids to visit the White House, student Nick Sandmann confirmed to The Dailywire on Tuesday.

"The President wants to send a plane down to get us," Sandmann said, according to The Dailywire.

While we await an official White House statement on the invite, Trump has voiced his support for the Kentucky Catholic high school students who were falsely accused by the media of harassing a Native American elder, saying in a series of tweets that they were “treated unfairly with early judgments proving out to be false” and that they have “become symbols of Fake News and how evil it can be.”

Recently released video shows that the alleged confrontation between the students and a Native American man playing a drum in front of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C., last week was falsely reported by the media.

Students present have responded to the negative media coverage and subsequent death threats on themselves and their families.

The uproar has even led the school itself, Convington Catholic High School in Park Hills, Ky., to tell its students, staff and faculty to stay home on Tuesday, citing safety concerns as MRCTV reported.

According to a new report by CNN, both the Native American man and the Covington Kids are open to getting together “to talk.”
