President Trump in an interview with The New York Post published Wednesday said that despite his efforts to achieve a denuclearized North Korea and to end the Korean War, he will “never” win the Nobel Peace Prize.

"Well, they'll never give it to me," he said.

Trump went on to say that his show “The Apprentice” deserved an Emmy but never received one.

“We should have gotten the Emmy for ‘The Apprentice,’ you know?” he said. “I had the No. 1 show, ‘The Apprentice.’ Arnold Schwarzenegger blew it. Big movie star. It was dead in two nights. I had it for 14 seasons.”

According to The Hill, “Trump was at the center of chatter earlier this year about whether he deserved the prize, with Trump supporters and even the president of South Korea saying that getting North Korea to denuclearize and end the Korean War would be an achievement worthy of the honor.”

Trump has said that he plans to meet with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un for a second summit, though the date has not been set. He said that the meeting would likely take place on his Mar-a-Lago property in Florida.

The first summit took place in Singapore back in May, where Trump and Kim issued a joint statement indicating that North Korea had an “unwavering commitment to complete denuclearization" as a result of the talks.

He tweeted following the summit about the media's unfair coverage regarding his administration’s diplomatic efforts with the historically rogue nation. Trump said that if former President Barack Obama had made the progress he has with the North Korea, Obama would have already been named “a national hero.”
