Poll: Celebrity Rants Against Guns Make Even Democrats Want to Bear Arms

While the average liberal celebrity grandstand is a major turn-off for most Republicans, it turns out that even Democrats don’t like it when Hollywood lectures Americans on gun control.

A new poll from Zogby Analytics found that most Americans don’t like it when Hollywood types preach to them about the Second Amendment – especially, come to find out, Millennials.

Zogby found that a majority 56 percent of Americans said that listening to celebs rants about guns actually inspires them to support the Second Amendment. Only 28 percent said Tinsel Town’s soapboxing makes them want to oppose firearms.

Perhaps most interestingly, Hollywood’s habit of running their hypocritical mouths is a particular irritant to younger adults.

“Among all age groups surveyed, supporting the 2nd amendment was strongest among Millennials aged 18-29 (65% support/23% oppose) and 18-24 (58% support/26% oppose). A majority of all other age groups were also more likely to want to support the 2nd amendment rather than oppose it when Hollywood talks about gun control,” the poll found.

It seems that even Democrats, who tend to lean more anti-gun than the average Republican, are likewise unimpressed by being lectured on their right to self-defense by millionaires with armed bodyguards.

“When it came to party, equal numbers of Democrats (47% support/37% oppose) and Independents (47% support/27% oppose) wanted to support the 2nd amendment. Republicans (86% support/18% oppose) were the most likely to want to support their constitutional right to bears arms when Hollywood talks about banning guns,” Zogby discovered.

“As we approach the November midterms, gun control will be a hot button issue, but according to the data, Hollywood interjecting itself into the debate makes even the Democratic base want to bear arms,” Zogby concluded.

So there you have it, Hollywood. Shut the heck up.

…..actually, on the other hand, keep talking.
