Maybe typically-liberal British television personality Piers Morgan should stick to print media, because he just wrote something that actually made sense.
In an op-ed for the Daily Mail Monday, Morgan gave a very insightful (for him) answer to the question of why the liberal media hate President Trump.
“Yet, there’s one thing even his most vociferous enemies -- and that is a historically high volume of human beings – cannot continue to deny, and it’s this: Donald Trump delivers on his promises,” Morgan wrote.
Even though Morgan points out that Trump opponents aren’t exactly fond of the promises the president is keeping, he gave examples of the promises Trump has kept so far.
According to the Morgan and the Daily Mail:
First, Candidate Trump repeatedly vowed to ‘wipe the hell out of ISIS’.
Now, within a year, the Islamist terror group that gained so much ground and support during Barack Obama’s tenure – he dismissed them as a “J.V. team” – has been routed from Syria and Iraq[…]
At every campaign rally, Candidate Trump promised to preside over economic growth, gets jobs going again, and stock markets roaring.
He’s doing all that.
Unemployment is at a 17-year low, hiring is strong - last Friday’s jobs report showed 228,000 new jobs in November - GDP expanded 3.3% in the third quarter, and the stock market keeps breaking new records[…]
Third, Candidate Trump promised to confirm Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and to move the US Embassy there from Tel Aviv.
Last week, he announced both things.
Liberals, never-Trumpers and the media will never climb aboard the “Trump train,” but they absolutely cannot deny Morgan’s assertion that Trump is only doing what he told anyone within earshot what he would do if elected.
“Love him or loathe him,” Morgan concluded, “Trump’s doing exactly what he told them he’d do.”
And for the liberal-loving media, that's exactly the problem.
