Pennsylvania state lawmaker Wendy Ullman, a Democrat who represents the state’s 143rd District, dug deep and found a brand-new low, even for abortion supporters.
Speaking in opposition of a state bill that would have hospitals bury or cremate the remains of all babies who are miscarried or aborted regardless of gestational age, Ullman callously dismissed early miscarriages as “just some mess on a napkin.”
“[House Bill 1890] refers specifically to the product of conception after fertilization, which covers an awful lot of territory,” Ullman said. "I think we all understand the concept of the loss of a fetus, but we’re also talking about a woman who comes into a facility and is having cramps and — not to be, not to be, concrete — an early miscarriage is just some mess on a napkin,” Ullman said.
The state representative was immediately slammed on Twitter by critics, many of whom expressed the pain they had felt when their own children were miscarried at an early age.
My miscarriage broke my heart. It was so much more than your disgusting reference. I loved all of my children from the moment of conception.

Heartbreaking. I had a miscarriage 35 years ago and I still wonder what that child could have become and what moments we lost.

This is grotesque! I still mourn the loss of a miscarried child

26 years ago my wife had a miscarriage. Baby’s heart stopped beating only after a month. Devastating for both of us. How dare this woman talk like this
