Never one to let a good crisis go to waste, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who was recently caught getting her hair done while maskless in a salon that had been ordered closed due to the coronavirus, now says she hopes President Donald Trump testing positive for COVID-19 will be a “learning experience” that leads to a “saner approach” in dealing with the pandemic.

Pelosi, who berated Trump for shutting down travel from China and encouraged people to gather in San Francisco’s Chinatown in the early days of the global outbreak, suggested on MSNBC Friday morning that Trump, who is currently running for a second term with the election just a month away, was inviting an infection by “going into crowds.”

"Maybe now that people who see the president of the United States with all the protection that he has, and the first lady, still having this exposure, it might be…a learning experience," Pelosi told MSNBC. "But more than learning, it has to be something that is acted upon."

"Going into crowds, unmasked and all the rest, was sort of a brazen invitation for something like this to happen," she said. "Sad that it did, but nonetheless hopeful that it will be a transition to a saner approach to what this virus is all about."
