Nancy Pelosi took a pot shot at Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s “Green New Deal," which the freshman New York lawmaker rolled out in detail for the first time Thursday.

The much-hyped proposal, which carries a staggering overall estimated cost of between $7 trillion and $50 trillion, is chock full of big-government proposals like universal health care, a guaranteed federal jobs program, and the total elimination of all carbon emissions over the next decade – all of which hinges on hiking personal income taxes into the proverbial stratosphere. The socialist overhaul has garnered the support of Democratic Sens. Kamala Harris and Elizabeth Warren, both of whom are also contenders for the 2020 Democratic primary.

But Pelosi, for one, doesn’t seem to be taking this “New Deal” very seriously.

“It will be one of several or maybe many suggestions that we receive,” Pelosi told Politico on Wednesday. “The green dream or whatever they call it, nobody knows what it is, but they’re for it, right?”

In the outline released Thursday, the laughably absurd proposal calls for "meeting 100 percent of the power demand in the United States through clean, renewable, and zero-emission energy sources,” while also eliminating the use of personal gas-fueled vehicles and transitioning away from all nuclear power.

The plan also calls for “upgrading all existing buildings" to be energy-efficient, eliminating all pollution and greenhouse gases from farms, building "charging stations everywhere” for electric cars, building a high-speed electric rail system to eliminate all air travel (which will be fun trying to build over the Atlantic, but hey), while also guaranteeing a job for every single working American that includes “a family-sustaining wage, adequate family and medical leave, paid vacations and retirement security.”
