The national outrage for all things President Trump apparently extends to the president’s children, evidenced by the parents of a Connecticut school pulling their children out for the day because Ivanka Trump was scheduled to appear.
Parents from the Norwalk Early College Academy told News 12 Connecticut that they wish they had a chance to protest her appearance. “This should have been brought to our attention, although I do understand security reasons. I think we should have had the choice to send our child to school or keep them home,” siad Norwalk mom, Karey Fitzgerald.
The Washington Examiner noted that some parents succeeded in pulling their children out of the school before Trump showed up, but that didn’t stop her from seeing the trip as a great success in promoting science, technology, engineering, and mathematics in American education.
She tweeted this shortly after the visit:
Great visit to Norwalk Early College Academy today with @IBM CEO @GinniRometty. PTECH schools equip high school students with skills training in #STEM & Computer Science, enabling them to thrive in our modern economy. It was an honor to meet so many bright and talented students! pic.twitter.com/BPYuoTffsK— Ivanka Trump (@IvankaTrump) December 18, 2017
