‘Occupy ICE’ Protestors Get Evicted in Portland

About 100 protestors are getting moved out of a federal ICE facility in Portland, Oregon.

KATU-TV reports, the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Oregon issued a statement saying officers started a “law enforcement action” to reopen the facility that was shut down by protestors on June 20. Federal officials took action to clear the federal property Thursday morning.

Hundreds of ‘Occupy ICE’ protesters began camping at the federal building posting signs such as "Refugees Welcome" and "abolish ICE" on the property including the walls of the ICE building. The protestors on federal property are being removed for building access.

Federal officials say they plan on maintaining a protective presence at the facility for the immediate future.
