NYT Not Happy with 'Trump Allies' Operation to Discredit Leftist Journalists

The New York Times is perturbed with “Trump allies” who they say are looking to expose leftist media pundits’ embarrassing and damaging social media posts.

Kenneth P. Vogel wrote an article on the topic where he claims The Times along with The Washington Post and CNN have had sensitive information about their journalists released because they have “aggressively investigated Mr. Trump.” 

“NEW FRONT IN THE WAR ON THE PRESS: TRUMP allies say they have archived embarrassing posts by hundreds of employees of @nytimes, @washingtonpost, @CNN & others,” Vogel posted to Twitter. “The TRUMP allies plan to disseminate the posts in response to coverage they consider unfair.”

The New York Times notes:

The White House press office said that neither the president nor anyone in the White House was involved in or aware of the operation, and that neither the White House nor the Republican National Committee was involved in funding it.

The Trump campaign said it was unaware of, and not involved in, the effort, but suggested that it served a worthy purpose. 'We know nothing about this, but it’s clear that the media has a lot of work to do to clean up its own house,' said Tim Murtaugh, the campaign’s communications director.

Vogel goes on to say that the campaign to expose the leftist media is in line with President Trump’s “long-running effort to delegitimize critical reporting and brand the news media as an 'enemy of the people.'” He says the president has sought to take away the credibility of news organizations. 

The NYT reporter seems to forget the reason the president has rightfully deemed the media “fake news.” 

Consumers of the news constantly hear stories from the leftist media that bash President Trump or talk about how “mentally unstable” he is. They race bait every opportunity they get. We hear about bigotry, xenophobia, homophobia, and any other type of phobia literally everyday. Real issues are rarely addressed and the liberal media has just become (and probably always was) a garbage entertainment show. Knowing this, is there really any wonder why someone is doing some investigating into what these so-called journalists are really about?

It looks like this reporter and others may just be afraid of the information that could come out and possibly expose them (or their colleagues) for how biased they actually are. 

Remember, journalism goes both ways and if conservative “operatives” are investigating what appears to be fake news then there is absolutely nothing wrong with that.
