When it comes to Socialists in power, do as they say, not as they do.

The deputy director of Socialist New York Mayor Bill de Blasio’s Office of Criminal Justice was arrested on Saturday — along with two young men — for illegal weapons possession. The weapon was a handgun with the serial number scratched out, a common practice among those in possession of an illegal firearm.

According to the New York Post:

Reagan Stevens, a deputy director in the Mayor’s Office of Criminal Justice, and two young men were arrested for illegal weapons possession while sitting in a double-parked car near the scene of a Saturday night shooting in Queens, cops said.

A loaded, 9mm semi-automatic pistol with its serial number defaced was hidden in the car’s glovebox, and there was a spent shell casing on the floor near Stevens’ feet in the rear of the 2002 dark red Infiniti SUV, law enforcement sources said.

An extra fun little tidbit is that both of Stevens’ parents are judges in the Queens, N.Y. justice system. You’d think she would’ve known better.

The NY Post also reported that Stevens’ main job for the mayor’s office was to focus on youth, “implementing a 2017 state law that will raise the age at which kids can be prosecuted as adults for non-violent crimes from 16 to 18.”

But, wait. Just a couple weeks ago, every Leftist with a platform told all of us that we should listen to teenagers when it comes to gun control. It’s pretty convenient that they always use the “kid defense” when something they want to push doesn’t go exactly their way.

Upon news of Stevens’ arrest, she was immediately suspended from her position without pay.

According to the Post, Stevens has one prior arrest from 2015 for “allegations of driving illegally.” Along with the two young men, Stevens was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a weapon.

Socialists constantly berate the rest of us about how they’re tough on crime. In reality they are only tough on weapons - primarily legal weapons - unless it’s their own weapons that are illegal. Criminals are victims, too! Didn’t you know?
