Two members of Norway’s Progress Party have nominated U.S. President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts in reaching an agreement to work toward the de-nuclearization of the Korean peninsula.

Bloomberg reports, two members of Norway’s governing Progress Party put forth Trump’s name for the honor.

“What’s going on now is historic,” Progress Party member Per-Willy Amundsen told Norwegian state news outlet NRK. “A process is underway to ensure world peace in the future. It’s a fragile process, but we must of course do what we can to help this process bring good results.”

The deadline for this year’s prize has already passed. So, the nomination would make Trump eligible for next year's honors.

Bloomberg reports that it’s unclear whether Trump was nominated for this year’s prize, but he was put forth as a candidate in 2016 and 2017.

Nominations for the Nobel prize are open to lawmakers, academics and researchers from around the world.
