This just in: California Governor Gavin Newsom has just awoken from a three-years-long coma.
If that sounds unlikely, other plausible theories include he recently took the red pill someone offered him in the upstairs corridor of a decrepit old house, or he’s been replaced by a bodysnatcher who saw the abysmal condition his state was in and subbed him out for a halfway sane person.
Whichever you choose to believe, it seems Newsom – or possibly his alien doppleganger - has finally wised up to just how far the Golden State has fallen under Democrat leadership, admitting himself this week that parts of California look “like a Third World country.”
“I’m asking myself, what the hell is going on? We look like a third-world country,” Newsom mused while surveying the cardboard-strewn hellscape alongside the Union Pacific railroad in Los Angeles, after video went viral this week showing the masses of empty delivery boxes left piled up alongside the tracks by thieves who’ve taken to jumping aboard parked railcars and stealing the contents of delivery packages.
“Just mark my words: this is not one-off. This is organized theft,” he continued, clearly unaware that no one really needed to be told that.
Newsom then blamed the robberies on “organized gangs of people” before quickly apologizing for using the “pejorative” word.
Now you heard it all. The California governor is SHOCKED parts of his state look like a third-world country because Prop. 47 shoppers can get away with anything! - CA Gov. The story caught the attention of the country - and, apparently, Newsom - last week thanks in large part to this video by CBS LA's John Schreiber, who'd followed up on a tip saying trains were seeing an uptick in burglaries.
Keep hearing of train burglaries in LA on the scanner so went to #LincolnHeights to see it all. And… there’s looted packages as far as the eye can see. Amazon packages, @UPS boxes, unused Covid tests, fishing lures, epi pens. Cargo containers left busted open on trains. @CBSLA pic.twitter.com/JvNF4UVy2K

Union Pacific released a statement following the viral video saying that train delivery theft is up 365% from October 2020 to October 2021, estimating that about 90 packages are opened and their contents stolen every day.
Letter from @UnionPacific to @LADAOffice on rise in train robberies. 90 containers breached a day, theft up 356% says UP. UP considering rerouting it’s trains out of LA county. While the situation alongside the LA train tracks is shocking and appalling, to say the least, it’s a wonder it took this long for Newsom – who’s been in office since 2019 – to realize parts of his country look like an impoverished and undeveloped nation’s landfill.
Maybe now he can go visit the human sewage and dirty syringe wasteland that is San Francisco. We recommend he take the 805 and stop at some homeless tent camps along the way.
