New Concealed Carry Gun That Looks Like a Smartphone is Hitting the Market

Ideal Conceal, a concealed weapons company, has created a new double barreled derringer that conceals itself as a smartphone.

Kirk Kjellberg, the inventor of the smartphone-looking pistol, told WHDH that he came up with the idea after a child called him out for having a gun on him. This way, no one would know or question why he was carrying.

“It’s more that they want to be able to carry a gun when they need to and not have to engage other people about why they’re carrying that gun,” Kjellberg said.

He added that the weapon is not a threat to places like an airport and that he has been in contact with Homeland Security to help train officers in identifying the weapon.

Ideal Conceal has also developed a holster that looks like a cell phone clip that goes on your hip. The gun can still be fired in the holster after moving the grip exposing the trigger so that, in an emergency, the wielder doesn’t have to fiddle the gun out of the holster

As a featured product, the NRA says that the cell phone pistol "offers a great option for self-defense along with max concealment. The shape will not print as a pistol, yet can be drawn and fired quickly."

Naturally, gun-grabbing lefties are not happy about this new weapon, but there are also people raving about the idea of it. 

As of July 9th, the pre orders are being shipped to individuals and dealers.
