Even as a COVID vaccine is being rolled out across the country, President-elect Joe Biden threw a wet blanket on the nation's Christmas season Tuesday when he assured everyone that "our darkest days in the battle against COVID are ahead of us."

"One thing I promise you about my leadership during this crisis: I'm going to tell it to you straight. I'm going to tell you the truth. And here's the simple truth. Our darkest days in the battle against COVID are ahead of us, not behind us," Biden said, contradicting President Donald Trump's more optimistic tone - a tact that's garnered him no shortage of ill will from the left and their cohorts in the media.

Biden continued, saying, "We need to prepare ourselves" and "steel our spines" for the coming "darker" days (or weeks? months?), even as upwards of 18 million people remain without a job and countless business from California to New York close their doors for good, unable to stay afloat amid never-ending government mandated shutdowns.

Meanwhile, after months of stonewalling, Congress managed to pass a combined $2.3 trillion COVID relief/appropriations bill that includes a paltry $600 per American to help ease the economic suffering.
