American companies from all over the country are showing what the American spirit is all about during this time of dealing with the novel coronavirus pandemic. We’re seeing a lot of them shift at least a portion of their production lines to aiding in supplying the medical field with different items they may need.
One such company helping is CEO Mike Lindell’s MyPillow.
Lindell made the announcement this week that his organization will be shifting 75 percent of its production to the manufacturing of face masks for hospitals.
“We have capacity to make a lot of things at big rates and we’re going to be going hopefully from 10,000 units a day to 50,000 units a day in a very short period of time,” Lindell said, according to KMSP.
According to KMSP:
Lindell says it took about three weeks to shift production as it was difficult at first to get a supply of elastics needed to create the masks. At this time, he says components are not available to make other types of masks, so his company focused on making the 100% cotton masks. He says MyPillow worked with a coalition from President Donald Trump's administration to get the proper design.
In a separate Facebook video, Lindell praised the Trump administration for their response to the virus outbreak and the efforts they’ve shown since.
“We have a great administration, a great president,” Lindell said. “The things that he’s doing right now is saving lives.”
