MTV Blasts 'F*** Donald Trump' During the VMA Music Awards

Having been dethroned from its former glory by the arrival of YouTube and Facebook, MTV, the once-premiere destination for all things pop music, has now decided the best way to stay relevant in a social media driven, post-Saturday television world is to cling to all things anti-Donald Trump in a desperate attempt to placate the elite Hollywood masses. In the Real World, we call this a cliché.

And apparently, staying hip with the times includes blasting vulgar, profane music aimed straight at the president during a commercial break at Sunday night’s VMA awards.

Fresh off their decision to bring on host Katy Perry, whose own politically-charged, anti-Trump album recently flopped like Lena Dunham falling off a diving board, MTV paused between rolling cameras to blast a “song” by artists YG and Nipsey Hussle (yes, Nipsey Hussle) whose deep and thoughtful lyrics involve repeated chants of “F*** Donald Trump.”

But of course, everyone knows that in today’s America, the cameras are never really off. A writer for The Hollywood Reporter caught a snippet of the song on his cell phone before blasting it out all over Twitter.

Other lyrics unheard in the video include: "I like white folks, but I don't like you / All the n*****s in the hood wanna fight you / Surprised the Nation of Islam ain't tried to find you."

Then again, we should probably expect such classlessness from the former music channel that recently brought us the eye-bleaching visual nightmare of Miley Cyrus “twerking” in a flesh-colored PVC bikini while grinding her groin into the crotch of a man nearly old enough to be her father, and who last night graced us with the sight of Nikki Minaj's hips stuffed into something that looked suspiciously like overstretched bubble gum.

So really, what’s a little shameless vulgarity toward a sitting U.S. president?
