Melania Slams Dem Impeachment Witness That Made ‘Joke’ About Son Barron: ‘You Should Be Ashamed’

First Lady Melania Trump in a fiery tweet slammed Stanford Law School Professor Pamela Karlan, who was an impeachment witness for House Democrats on Wednesday, after Karlan made a "joke" involving Mrs. Trump's 13-year-old son Barron during the hearing.

“A minor child deserves privacy and should be kept out of politics,” wrote Mrs. Trump. “Pamela Karlan, you should be ashamed of your very angry and obviously biased public pandering, and using a child to do it.”

As Daily Wire reported, while discussing the difference between a king and a president, Karlan oh-so-cleverly said, “So while the president can name his son Barron, he can’t make him a baron.”

Her distasteful remarks immediately drew backlash.

Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) during the hearing told Karlan that making a joke involving the President’s son does “not lend credibility to you argument—it makes you look mean …”

Barron’s older brother, Donald Trump Jr., expressed his outrage on Twitter, saying, “Remember only children of Liberals (even the 50 year old children) are off limits. That a 13 year old is fair game for partisan hacks on a national platform shows you all you need to know about the new left and who is now running the ship."

He also noted several of Karlan's ironic donations.

The Trump campaign issued a statement on the bad joke, saying, “Only in the minds of crazed liberals is it funny to drag a 13-year-old child into the impeachment nonsense.”

The campaign added that Karlan’s testimony “reinforced for all Americans that Democrats have no boundaries when it comes to their hatred of everything related to President Trump” and called on Democrats in Congress to “repudiate Pamela Karlan and call on her to personally apologize to the President and the First Lady for mocking their son on national TV.”

President Trump retweeted Mrs. Trump’s tweet, as did over 46,000 others.

Some tried to draw a comparison between Karlan slamming Barron to President Trump criticizing climate activist Greta Thunberg, to which many pointed out the obvious:
