Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) actually just explained why a lot of people don’t take her seriously. Waters is so obsessed with impeaching President Trump that she apparently has no time to listen to what the president has to say — ever.

Waters recently talked to ESSENCE about Tuesday night’s State of the Union address, which was postponed one week due to a stalemate between Trump and congressional democrats.

The California congresswoman showed her ignorance when she intimated that she hopes the American viewing public “will turn the television off.”

Here’s what Waters said:

I don’t even know why he wants to come and give the State of the Union. The State of the Union under him has not been good and he has been divisive. And I think he’s putting us all in harm’s way. And so, he is not worthy of being listened to. I don’t know why anybody would want to pay attention to anything that he has to say.

He lies over and over again like I said 6,000 lies have been documented since he’s been there. I just can’t imagine what he’s going to try and say. But since he’s a great liar, he will say anything because he’s capable of saying anything without facts, without research.

I’m not looking forward to his State of the Union, and I hope that people will turn the television off.

One of the most corrupt members of Congress over the last 15 years is calling someone else a liar. That’s laughable, at best.

Even if you’re not a fan of Trump, wouldn’t logic dictate to you that you should listen to what the president has to say in order to know what you oppose about his presidency?

It appears that the logic train left Waters’ station a long time ago.
